Workshop BBH
Bringing Baby Home
Read More
Even the strongest relationships are strained during the transition to parenthood. Lack of sleep, never-ending housework and few fiscal concerns can lead to profound stress and a decline in marital satisfaction – all of which affect baby’s care. Not surprisingly, 69% of new parents experience conflict, disappointment, and hurt feelings.
Our research-based Bringing Baby Home workshops prepare couples for life with baby and help them be the best parenting team possible. In a relaxed and supportive environment, parents will learn to strengthen their relationship and foster baby’s development during this challenging time. They build on what Dr. Gottman and his colleagues found is the best predictor of marital adjustment after baby arrives: the quality of friendship in the marriage.
This one day workshop combines scientific research and public education to improve the life for babies and children by strengthening their families. It teaches new parents how to gain relationship satisfaction and create healthy social, emotional, and intellectual development for their children.
Who is the workshop for?
* Parents with children
* Couples planning to start a family
* New parents

Testimonials
“Wendy’s style of counselling in seeking to understand & getting Mary (not the real name) & I to share our points of views before sharing her thoughts has been very helpful & effective. I’ve been through counsellors where they are very fast to state what’s “wrong” and Wendy certainly didn’t do that. When she did share her point of view, it was very spot on and really gave us much to think about and to work on. Her sense of when to get us to see her together and then separately & then together again was also spot on and that did help a lot too. Mary and I will make time to see her again to keep counselling as ongoing mode as it does help our marriage stay stronger.”
“Wendy’s sessions have been extremely helpful for us not just in understanding how to tune in to each other but also allowing each of us to understand ourselves better and to realize the underlying reasons for our behaviors. She made us very comfortable in our interactions with her and was empathetic and non judgmental in her responses, a trait we value alot. She helped us to untangle many emotional knots and equipped us with skills to communicate better and navigate through our problems together. We are so very thankful to have found Wendy in our journey to strengthen our marriage.”
“Wendy has been instrumental in guiding both my wife and I on to a reconciliatory path, one where both of us understood, accommodated and adapted to each other. She was patient, kind and understanding, yet firm with her words on what needed to do to move forward together. Even with the pandemic, we felt at home with her online sessions, her words motivating us to be better. We are grateful to have known Wendy and be blessed with her assistance in putting our lives back together.”
“I found the sessions really helpful in creating self-awareness for my husband and I, so that we can see from each other’s view point and see how our actions affect each other. There’s a lot of work to do as a couple and I feel we have picked up the right tools from Wendy to help us navigate through our differences.”
“Wendy came highly recommended by a family friend, so we sought her expertise to help us get through a rough spot in our marriage. Wendy was very attentive to our situation during our sessions, and she was very precise in pointing out the critical issues that needed to be addressed with priority. This has helped us focus our time and energy on what mattered the most to us, and eventually allowed us to move on with our lives.
We are very thankful to have found Wendy; she has helped us regain the strength as a couple and steered us towards the direction where we had been able to find the happiness in our marriage.”
“The premarital counselling sessions with Wendy were very insightful! They have helped my fiancé and I learn more about each other and understand our relationship better. It was also a platform for us to unpack our thoughts and emotions, and to let us communicate openly on the things that we would have otherwise not noticed or not talked about. My fiancé and I would like to thank Wendy for journeying with us through the difficult times in our relationship where we felt stuck and helpless. The things that we have learnt from the sessions are definitely helpful for us in continuing to grow together as a couple.”
“We came to Wendy because we wanted to learn how to communicate with each other better but we left with learning so much more. Wendy helped us to have newfound respect and understanding for each other and without her, we wouldn’t be as strong in the foundation for our relationship now. After just the very first session with her, my partner had such a big mindset shift that we were able to resolve a big issue that I didn’t think it was possible to ever resolve. I always looked forward to our therapy sessions because Wendy provided a safe and neutral space for us to be reflective and open about our relationship, and that has allowed us to grow so much closer. I have recommended Wendy to all my close friends and truly cannot thank her enough for being such a wonderful therapist”
“Wendy has led me through an introspective journey. It is great to be able to connect with myself and to appreciate myself as who I am with her guidance.”
“Before attending Wendy’s couple therapy, we dared not to have high hopes of the outcome, as we knew we were both strong-minded and would not be easily influenced to change. To our surprise, Wendy played her magic and helped us reconnect with each other. As a mediating counselor, she attended to both sides of our story, in an atmosphere of compassion and acceptance. Often, in a strained relationship, we too focus on voicing our own opinions and imposing our views on our partner, naturally, we lose the hearing heart for each other. Wendy, she taught us to take a pause and brought our attention to the struggles that our partner has been through, presented in a balanced and more understandable way. Through that lens, we learned to understand each other better, in his/her personal unique perspective. We also realize that we don’t have to always agree, but we can open our heart to understand and accept, and it means a lot to our partner. She further revealed the hidden problems in our relationship that we had neglected for long, and shared with us strategies to overcome them. She also underscored our strengths, such as common commitment to our marriage, and used it to guide our decisions in marriage life. We feel Wendy’s counseling not just helpful for restoration of broken relationships, it also helps to enhance a relationship and makes it healthier and stronger. We are truly grateful to all your help, thank you Wendy!”
My experience with Wendy is exceptional and truly exceeded my expectations. She demonstrated astute observations, pinpointing key aspects of my situation with precision and insight. Her ability to provide clarity and offer profound insights helped me to reevaluate and alter my thought processes and behaviors in meaningful ways. I left the sessions equipped with valuable tools for personal growth. I highly recommend this counseling service to anyone seeking profound and impactful support.
We are very thankful for the sessions we had with Wendy. We felt we can share openly in a very safe and non judgemental environment. Her sessions were effective as it gave us deeper insights of ourselves and our partner. Most importantly the sessions inculcate in us a set of skills to help us work through our issues and strengthen our relationship. We appreciate Wendy very much for her work.
